Whaddup readers, it’s time for another Fancast/Dreamcast post, and this time it’s for what has to be the spiciest, steamiest, sexiest set of books I’ve read this year! Neve Wilder totally gained a fan in me with how hot these books got, they’re seriously some of the best MM new adult romance I’ve read out there, not that my list is incredibly extensive in this regards, but someday!
BEWARE OF SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT READ THESE YET
Each book featured a different couple, and book 1 actually started off as a collection of short stories in a newsletter that gained major popularity before being brought together and published as one full length novel. Nate and Eric star in book 1, Chet and Mark star in book 2, and Sam and Jesse star in book 3!
If you want some spicy MM romance action, I can’t recommend these books enough!

Here is my Fancast/Dreamcast for the Extracurricular Activities Trilogy:
Nate: Ryan Ball
Credit to owner n/a
Ryan is a model that is total eye candy on Instagram, and exactly how I imagine the down to earth and slightly awkward Nate to look like in book 1. If he looked like this, I can see why Eric became so into him!
~~~
Eric: Charlie Matthews
Image courtesy of dnamanagementgroup.com
Eric is described as being dark haired with green eyes and a hot build even if he’s on the slimmer side, so this model Charlie Matthews is immediately who I thought of to play Eric!
~~~
Mark: Zane Phillips
Image courtesy of gaytimes.com
I’ve recently discovered Zane Phillips, and I’m obsessed…He might be the only reason I have to check out The Legacies on the CW network, even though I believe The Vampire Diaries DID NOT need a second spin-off show! It also helps that he’s gay in real life too, so he’d be perfect for a role in these books if they were to make it into a film/show!
~~~
Chet: Eric Guilmette
Image courtesy of etfitnesscoach.com
I’m basically making this fancast into a men’s appreciation catalogue, but honestly who’s complaining??? I don’t remember much of what Chet is described as, but I’m obsessed with Eric over on Instagram, so I honestly just pictured him as Chet in my head. This one may or may not be all that accurate, but hey, I’m good with using Eric to my imagination with these books!
~~~
Sam: Matt O’Brien, or Andre Lamoglia
Matt O’Brien, image courtesy of the model’s Instagram account
Andre Lamoglia, image courtesy of popbuzz.com
Sam is basically described LITERALLY as a human golden retriever/yellow lab, and whoever would play him needs to look the part! Matt is guy I found on social media who I imagine Sam looking like, BUT there’s also a new hottie named Ivan on the Spanish Netflix drama, Elite, who’s played by Andre, and I get serious heart-eyes whenever he smiles, just like how I’d imagine I would for Sam!
Jesse: Alex Espenshade
Image courtesy of rykermagazine.com
Jesse is a sassy skinny ginger who was also really hard to cast! No one came to mind right away for me as to who I could picture playing him! This male model has an adorable look to him that I could see Jesse as, but consider this a place holder until I find someone who I deem more perfect!
Image courtesy of Instagram profile @queenofthefaebaes
So I’ve started these books because it seems like they’ve gotten a lot of attention from the YA-Fantasy fandom since the first book, Wicked Saints, released in 2019. Heck, even the monthly subscription box, Owlcrate, has made their own exclusive editions (pictured above) for us readers to enjoy! It’s been said that this trilogy is perfect for those that shipped Alina Starkov and the Darkling from Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy, and it was that comparison that had me sold to dig into these, and not just because of the gorgeous covers!
Here’s the blurb of book #1, WickedSaints:
A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself…
A prince in danger must decide who to trust…
A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings…
Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.
In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between dark and light.
My book reviews are coming soon!

Here’s my official Fancast/Dreamcast:
~~~
Serefin Meleski: Christian Balic, or Tomas Skoloudik
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Image courtesy of the actor’s Instagram profile
In my honest opinion, both of these models have the look of the Tranavian Prince who attacks Nadya’s monastery in the very first chapter of Wicked Saints, but is just so tired of war. He’s an interesting character, plus he’s snarky with the dark hair/light eyes combo, so is anyone really surprised that I love him?
Ostyia: Marcella Tanaya
Credit to owner
This model from Indonesia has been a top fancast name for Amren from author Sarah J. Maas’s bestselling series A Court of Thorns and Roses, but I think she also makes a great choice to play Serefin’s second in command. Her looks alone can kick some serious ass!
Kacper: Mena Massoud
Image courtesy of daman.com
The face of the live-action Disney favorite, Aladdin, this actor once mentioned how he hasn’t found much work since that film released, so maybe he’d find a role as Serefin’s buddy if they decided to make Wicked Saints into a movie?
Anna: Billie Lourd
Image courtesy of Ramona Rosales, for THR annual class photo
The daughter of the late Carrie Fischer, I’ve loved her ever since she’s joined the recurring cast of American Horror Story, plus she’s been in the show Scream Queens, and the recent film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Rashid: Flamur Ukshini
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Flamur is a gorgeous Instagram model who was discovered because of his uncanny resemblance to former One Direction singer, Zayn Malik. To keep things not so mainstream, lets pick this model instead to play the Akolan who befriended Malachiasz.
Parijanham: Shiva Negar
Image courtesy of modelmayhem.com
She was most notably seen in the Vince Flynn novel-turned-movie AmericanAssassin, and I think she’d be a great pick for the role of the strong and brave female Akolan in the series.
King Izak Meleski: Mark Strong
To be honest, I’m not too familiar with this actor or any movies he’s been in, but another book-blog (booksrealwhenshared) fancasted him as the King of Tranavia, and after I’d met the character in the book myself, I could definitely agree with their choice of actor! I also totally agree with their similar casting of Mena Massoud as Kacper!
Zaneta: Meaghan Rath
Image courtesy of the actress’s IMDB profile
This actress has been in shows like the Hawaii 5-0 remake, Being Human, and she’s guest starred on two of my favorite shows: New Girl and Schitt’s Creek!
Nadya Lapteva: Elle Evans, Sophie Turner, or Jennifer Lawrence
Image courtesy of elleevansofficial.com
Image courtesy of Elle Magazine
Image courtesy of VOGUE Magazine
I would be happy with any of these three gorgeous blondes being our MC of this gothic YA Fantasy trilogy. Elle is a model that just fits the physical descrption of Nadya, Sophie does too and was an amazing Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones, and maybe the odds are ever in Jennifer Lawrence’s favor if she wanted the role if this book was ever turned into a movie!
Malachiasz was easily the hardest character to cast for these books! I couldn’t find anyone who perfectly matched the physical description of my favorite character, so I’d be more than okay if either of these two men were to be casted as him; let’s just slap a long-haired wig on them and call it good! Nicholas Hoult is an extremely versatile actor who I adore; he’s been in movies like Warm Bodies, Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men:DarkPhoenix, and Tolkien.
So, there you have it! Now this is a fancasting made only based off the first book, so I’m sure there will be other notable characters that appear later on that I haven’t personally met yet. Be sure to check back, as I will add more characters as I continue to read the series!
***Fair Warning: This post will contain spoilers on the book series, read on at your own risk! You’ve officially been warned!***
The Fever series is one of my 2020 addictions as I’d discovered it thanks to the recommendation from a work friend, and I’ve devoured each book immediately after the next to see what happens with KMM’s masterful storytelling, and her ability to reveal valuable plot information at an achingly slow pace!
For those that don’t know already, this story revolves around a young, blonde party girl from Georgia named MacKayla Lane, and how she’s devastated when she discovers her older sister, Alina, was mysteriously murdered while studying at Trinity University over in Dublin, Ireland. Vengeful and seeking answers—along with retribution against her killer—Mac sets off for Dublin and discovers some even more shocking news…it turns out that she is a Sidhe-Seer: a person who can see past the glamours and illusions of the otherworldly race of creatures of the Fae, who have been living in the shadows of our world for longer than we’d ever realized.
As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, she meets many different and mysterious characters along the way; two in particular are the rare and collectible bookstore owner, Jericho Barrons, along with the vicious and conniving Fae prince, V’lane. It turns out, they and a slew of other dangerous players are all searching for a dark, ancient, and powerful Fae artifact: the SinsarDubh. It’s an evil book that holds the power to create and destroy entire worlds, and Mac needs to find it before it gets into the wrong hands…
Here is my official Fancast/Dreamcast:
~~~
V’lane: Gabriel Aubry, or Jacey Elthalion
Gabriel Aubry, Image courtesy of gettyimages.com
Jacey Elthalion, Image courtesy of listal.com
V’lane is the Seelie Prince of the high court, and is the Queen’s consort, and apparently was so good looking that a human woman can reach climax just by being in his presence. He’s described as having long golden hair and hypnotic golden eyes that aren’t of this world, and these two male models came to mind when I had begun casting.
Alina Lane: Katheryn Winnick
Image courtesy of celebzz.com
Katheryn is most well known for her role in the hit TV show, Vikings, and has been seen in plenty of other fancastings of books/series I’ve read where there’s a blonde badass female lead. The role of Mac’s dead older sister isn’t a leading role, but I think she’d look the part, especially side by side with who I selected to play Mac.
Fiona Asheton: Lana Parilla
Image courtesy of coveteur.com
You may or may not have seen her play Regina, aka The Evil Queen in ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and I’ve loved her ever since those days. She has shown that she can play an incredibly complex role, and while that’s not really the case with Fiona’s role, I’d still think she’d play the irksome character just as well!
Inspector O’Duffy: Sean Bean
Image courtesy of bean-daily.livejournal.com
Sean Bean is known for many, many, many roles…For me, the most memorable are his times with Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. While I doubt he’d ever do a role like this for the Fever series if it were ever to get the green light, I’d still think he’d be an excellent choice! It would be…fitting.
Mallucé: Cody Fern
Image courtesy of popbuzz.com
I’d been introduced to Cody Fern when he’d been the Antichrist on American Horror Story, and I was blown away by his skill as an actor with that! He had the long, red hair and shortly after, I’d started reading the Fever series and got introduced to this interesting character who may or may not have been a vampire.
Roark “Rocky” O’Bannion: Manu Bennett
Image courtesy of the actor’s section on the CW’s Arrow wikia page
I know he may not exactly fit the physical description of the former boxer-turned-mob boss, but Manu has the physical presence in the roles he plays that match the intimidation the character gives off. If you don’t recognize this guy, he was in Spartacus, Arrow, and was the White orc in The Hobbit movies.
Derek O’Bannion: DJ Cotrona
Image courtesy of the actor’s IMDB profile
He’s an actor I like to look at, plain and simple. Despite the character, Mac did describe him as being pretty good looking, plus I’d believe it if he was casted as Manu Bennett’s on-screen younger brother. He was in the second GI Joe Movie, along with DC’s Shazam.
Dani O’Malley: Abigail Cowen
Image courtesy of chrislabadiephotography.com
This gorgeous actress is seen on Netflix shows like Stranger Things and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and has the perfect look for our younger cast member of the world of the Fever series!
Christian Mackeltar: Emilio Alcarez, Taylor Kitsch, or Andrew Biernat
Emilio, image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Taylor Kitsch, credit to owner
Andrew Biernat, image courtesy of the model/actor’s IMDB profile
Emilio is a model I’d found on Instagram, and I know he’s not technically from the same background as the member of the Druid’s that have helped the Seelie since ancient times, but I think he does fit the physical description pretty well. Another option is Taylor Kitsch, especially if he’d grow out his hair again like during his Friday Night Lights TV show days. Andrew is a model I found on Instagram who’s been on countless romance novel book covers, and is a more recent choice that would be a sexy male fae prince!
Ryodan: Ryan Paevey
Image courtesy of weareallsmith.com
What made this casting easy for me was Ryan’s eyes. They’re utterly mesmerizing and hypnotic, so this casting for me was almost instant once I’d finally met the Night Club owner in the books.
Jack Lane: Dennis Quaid
Image courtesy of People Magazine
Dennis Quaid, who doesn’t need any sort of reminder of who he is or what he’s been in, has been a favorite for fancasting Mac’s father, and I am completely on board with it!
Rainey Lane: Christie Brinkley
Image courtesy of wealthypersons.com
I’d watched Christie make a surprise appearance on Parks and Recreation as Jerry’s wife, and have known her since her Bowflex commercials with Chuck Norris. She’s a classic hollywood name, kind of up there with Pamela Anderson. She’d make a perfect casting for the Georgian southern belle of a mother, Rainey Lane.
Dreamy Eyed Guy: Nick Ayler
Image courtesy of the model’s Facebook page
Lord Master/Darroc: Sam Heughan
Credit to owner
Watch Outlander and know why everyone loves the TV version of Jamie Fraser, but I would be curious to see how he’d play a villain like the Lord Master in the Fever Series. He’s a terrific actor, and I’d know he’d absolutely crush it.
Inspector Jayne: Richard Armitage
Image courtesy of theonering.org
Inspector Duffy needs to look like a hero, like a Liam Neeson coming to find his daughter in Europe and somehow make more than one sequel on that…Well, At least KMM described him as a Liam Neeson type of character. Richard Armitage was Thorin in The Hobbit movies, and I think he’d be an excellent choice for Jayne!
Rowena O’Reilly: Miranda Otto
Image courtesy of BELLO Magazine
I’ve loved her ever since her days as Eowyn from the Lord of the Rings, but seeing her play aunt Zelda on the Netflix hit show, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has made me think she’d be an amazing choice to play the role of the leader of the Sidhe Seers in the Fever Series!
Kat McLaughlin: Alexandra Daddario
Image courtesy hawtcelebs.com
Like a few guys on this casting, Alexandra’s eyes are truly magnificent! They’re utterly bewitching, and Kat’s eyes have been described as having a similar effect even though hers are gray instead of the light blue this actress’s are.
Jo Brennan: Hayley Marie Norman, or Jerrika Hinton
Image courtesy of essence.com
Image courtesy of hollywoodsblackrenaissance.com
Jo is described as being in her mid-twenties with dark, short & spiky hair, so these two actresses came to mind. Hayley was in the cheerleader movie, Fired Up, and was in the pilot episode of New Girl, while Jerrika was on Grey’s Anatomy for quite some time!
Isla O’Connor: Emily Blunt
Image courtesy of harpersbazaar.com
A lot of people are fancasting Charlize Theron as Isla O’Connor, and while I love Charlize and usually have her as a favorite for powerful blondes, I pictured Emily Blunt more as Mac’s biological mother because she’s also a beautiful woman, but in a different way than Charlize that I feel captures the essence of the character better.
~~~
Updated: Here’s Part 2 of my Fancast/Dreamcast after reading past book #7: Burned
~~~
Dancer:Ronen Rubinstein, David Corenswet, or Jonah Hauer-King
Ronen Rubinstein, image courtesy of notedames.com
David Corenswet, image courtesy of popbuzz.com
Jonah Hauer-King, image courtesy of 1883magazine.com
Dancer is quickly a favorite of mine, despite how he’s the character trope of being the cute & nerdy best friend who’s hopelessly in love with the protagonist, who was Dani when we met him in Book #6: Iced. Any of these actors could play our boy genius, they’re actually only 25 or 26, so they fit the age better than my other choice, who was Nicholas Hoult.
Lor:Kaman Sheldon, Philippe Leblond, or Steven Christensen
Kaman Sheldon, image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Philippe Leblond, image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Steven Christensen, image courtesy of the model’s Facebook page
I would go for Chris Hemsworth, who plays the lovable blond himbo role perfectly, I feel like he’s too easy of a choice, plus he’s way too big an actor to play him. Any of these models could be my pick, especially when we see sooooo much of Lor in Burned 😉
Fade:Joe Manganiello, or Casey Christopher
Joe Manganiello, image courtesy of thefashionisto.com
Casey Christopher, image courtesy of newzopedia.com
Both of these men have the Italian features of tan skin with dark hair and eyes, and both could be good choices to play the member of the pack of 9.
Jada:Miguelle Landry
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
So she was originally my Dani O’Malley, and without giving much away except that I’ve read Burned by now, I had to make a switch on my casting!
Sean O’Bannion: Flamur Ukshini
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
The O’Bannion family tree has a truly unique ethnic background: I believe they’re Black Irish with Arabian/Middle Eastern features as well… okay, well someone guide me to models/actors that fit that bill, but while I’m waiting, this Zayn Malik-lookalike model is my choice to play the last O’Bannion member who is betrothed to our Sidhe-Seer Empath, Kat.
Unseelie Prince Rath: Jay Byars
Credit to owner
Unseelie Prince Kiall: Alex Sewell
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
Seelie Prince/King R’Jan: Rick Cosnett
Image courtesy of mixedarticle.com
You may or may not remember this guy making a short appearance in the fifth season of The Vampire Diaries where he played that professor that was much more than a pretentious jerk? I thought he’d play this part wonderfully!
Kasteo:Kenta Sakurai
Image courtesy of the model’s Instagram profile
I made Kasteo a POC, why not? Not much is known about this silent member of the pack of 9, except that he is incredibly justified in exacting revenge on Barrons and Ryodan at some point! This Mexican/Japanese model has such a beautiful face, he gives me major vibes of Kasteo!
Dageus Mackeltar:Colin O’Donoghue
Credit to owner
Drustan Mackeltar:Sean Maguire
Image courtesy of sean-maguire.net
Margery Bean-McLaughlin:Katharine McPhee, Camilla Luddington, or Odette Annable
Katharine Mcphee, image courtesy of last.fm
Camilla Luddington, image courtesy of 9gag.com
Odette Annable, image courtesy of theplace2.ru
Any three of these credible actress’s could play the conniving and backstabbing Sidhe-Seer who’s looking to take over from Kat’s position past Shadowfever! They all give me vibes of what I pictured Margery appearing as.
Seelie Queen Aoibheal:Rachel McAdams
Image courtesy of 9gag.com
That’s right, Ms. Regina George herself is my queen of the fae because she’s been my real life queen ever since she’s been Regina George in my favorite quotable movie of all time: Mean Girls. I’m making it happen, it’s GONNA happen!
Unseelie King:Gerard Butler
Credit to owner
Gerard is such a terrific actor who has such variety and range in whatever roles he takes on. He also has such a powerful and commanding presence on the big screen, I know he’d make an excellent king now that we’re starting to see him in his actual form!
Unseelie Princess: Zoe Saldana
Image courtesy of Chris M. on Instagram
Zoe Saldana is no stranger to playing these kinds of roles, from Avatar to Guardians of the Galaxy, I know she’d be absolutely wonderful at playing this character too!
Cruce: Sahib Faber
Image courtesy of malemodelscene.net
That’s right, Cruce gets his own casting because V’lane was merely a glamour that he’d placed upon himself for so many years to fool us all! This male model is a perfect choice to play our first and most powerful Unseelie Prince who’s not entirely out of the picture quite yet.
~~~
And without further ado… here are the two fancastings I’m sure everyone has been waiting for…
Jericho Barrons and MacKayla Lane!
~~~
Jericho Barrons: Marco Dapper, or Michele Morrone
Marco Dapper, image courtesy of the actor’s IMDB profile
He’s not a very well known actor, I can admit that. Not everyone has heard of him, but I’d discovered him many years ago because I’d casted him in another role from another book. Yeah…I’ve been fancasting for awhile! He may not have the shoulder length hair, but I do believe Marco could look the part of one of my preferred alphaholes. Here are some examples:
Exhibit A: He’s pretty much got that heated, smoldering gaze down pat that we all know Jericho is almost famous for. I can already see the mix of disapproval and barely contained lust like he was staring at Mac in their Bookstore now!
Exhibit B: He looks hella good with his shirt off…He’s even got that longer hair to resemble Barrons even further (for any doubters that may still be out there).
Michele Morrone, image courtesy of marieclaire.com
After watching the… interesting film 365 Days on Netflix, I discovered this beautiful 29 year old Italian man who starred in it, and the entire time I was thinking to myself how this man was giving off some HEAVY Jericho Barrons vibes… I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with running into him at the bookstore!
MacKayla “Mac” Lane: Barbara Blank
Image courtesy of the actress’s Instagram profile
She’s a reality tv star/actress, but I know her more as a former WWE female wrestler who went under the stage name “Kelly Kelly.” She had a name so nice, they’d named her twice and she sometimes had the characterization as a sexy, playful, flirty, stereotypical blonde that seemed VERY similar to our star of the whole book series. If you have any other doubts, she’s even had a similar hair changing moment like Mac too:
She’s had a time when she’d gone brunette after being blonde her whole life, so I think that is what sold me to personally fancast her as MacKayla Lane. Plus, being a former WWE competitor, you know she’d be able to do the more physically demanding stunts involved like when she needs to kick some serious Unseelie ass!
In the start of a brand new ADULT fantasy series by one of my favorite authors, we are once again introduced to an astounding cast of characters in another richly detailed world created by one of the Queens of YA Fantasy. This book just released earlier in 2020, so of course I wanted to share my own personal fancast of this book that I’d devoured since I’d opened it’s pages.
Here’s the official blurb:
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life—working hard all day and partying all night—until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.
Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose—to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.
As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion—one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.
With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new fantasy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom—and the power of love.

Here is my official Fancast/Dreamcast:
~~~
Danika Fendyr: Elle Evans
Image courtesy of marriedbiography.com
Elle is a model/actress that I came across during my search for some cute blondes; I guess she’s most notably from Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video.
Jesiba Roga: Evan Rachel Wood
Image courtesy of the actress’s IMDB profile
Evan Rachel Wood is an absolute show-stealer in HBO’s “Westworld,” and when I’d read Jesiba’s description in the book, Evan immediately came to mind, especially when I remembered her wearing this look to the Golden Globes in recent memory.
Connor Holstrom: Stephen Amell
Credit to owner
Stephen Amell has the perfect look for the second in command of Danika’s pack. For any of you DC/Marvel fans, Stephen has recently finished his most notable role from the CW’s “Arrow.” Despite how the book plays out, I really did wish Bryce and Connor could’ve had a chance.
Ithan Holstrom: Robbie Amell
Image courtesy of tvovermind.com
Ithan is Connor’s younger brother in this story, so why not get Stephen Amell’s cousin to play the role? I’ve been in love with Robbie ever since he played Max in Disney Channel’s Life With Derek, and he’s been in The Babysitter, The DUFF, and the CW’s The Flash.
Danika also had a chance at happiness with Thorne, who was a quieter member of their pack. He didn’t say much, but Steve came to mind of who I’d thought he’d looked like. Steve has been in the shows Bitten, Schitts Creek, and even had a brief appearance in Blue Mountain State.
Sabine Fendyr: Madchen Amick
Image courtesy of the actress’s Twitter profile
I absolutely adore her as Alice Cooper in the CW’s hit show, Riverdale, and thought of her when I’d gotten to meet Danika’s absolutely despicable mother.
Fury Axtar: Gemma Chan
Image courtesy of fashiongonerogue.com
Gemma has such striking features; she’s stuck with me ever since I’d seen her in Crazy Rich Asians. Looking at Sarah J. Maas’s Pinterest board for the book, I learned the mercenary/assassin was of Eastern Asian descent, so of course I’d think Gemma would be a great Fury!
Juniper Andromeda: Jessica Parker Kennedy
Image courtesy of the actress’s IMDB profile
She’s in the TV Show Black Sails, and she has the exact look I’d think graceful and statuesque Juniper would appear as.
Isaiah Tiberian: Elliot Knight
Image courtesy of the actor’s Twitter profile
He played Merlin in ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and also briefly appeared in How To Get Away with Murder. Feel free to check him out on social media and see his bromance with bestselling LGBTQ YA author, Adam Silvera too!
Viktoria Vargos: Jenna Dewan
Image courtesy of rebeccanorinne.com
The former Mrs. Channing Tatum, who is an actress and dancer, has been around dance all her life and has been linked to several big names in the music industry before she starred in the 2006 dance flick, Step Up.
Ruhn Danaan: Stephen James
Credit to owner
Ruhn was by far was the hardest to find someone to cast…he’s got such unique look to him! Odds are whoever would plays him will be spending A LOT of time in make-up to get the look of the Fae Prince. Stephen is a 31 year old British Model, and he defs rocks the blue eyed tattooed look, and with a long wig, he’d look quite like Ruhn in my opinion!
Naomi Borgeas: Tessa Thompson
Image courtesy of fashiongonerogue.com
Badass female character who’s a POC…it almost goes without saying that Tessa Thompson is made for that role!
Justinian: Harry Lloyd
Image courtesy of theapricity.com
This one is still kind of up in the air for me to be honest…
Lehabah: Lizzo
Image courtesy of affinitymagazine.com
This is a match made in heaven…the famous music artist would make an amazing firesprite who’s all about the latest gossip and the hottest males who enter Bryce’s life. I just pictured this character being more curvy and similar to Lizzo’s figure.
It’s hard to imagine Viggo playing such a prick of a character like the High Fae Autumn King, especially since he’s frickin’ Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings movies. I know he’s a terrific actor, and I’d want him to try this completely different role than the one I’m so used to seeing him as.
The Viper Queen: Lourdes Faberes
Image courtesy of the actress’s IMDB profile
I’d recently watched the mini-series Good Omens, and really enjoyed seeing her play one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, Pollution, and think she’d also crush the role of the sketchy drug dealer in Crescent City.
Philip Briggs: Michael McElhatton
Credit to owner
He played the slimy and deceptive Roose Bolton in Game of Thrones, so I’d think he’d play the human terrorist/rebel who has had unspeakable terrors happen to him behind bars.
Micah Domitus: Casper Van Dien
Image courtesy of the actor’s IMDB profile
I know him best from the Starship Troopers movies that were so bad that they were actually good, but he’s got such a commanding look; he’d be able to nail the powerful role of the governor who hardly takes “no” for an answer.
Tristan Flynn: Theo James
Image courtesy of weheartit.com
To be honest, I don’t remember much that was said about his appearance, but if Tristan is such a big flirt, he’s got to have the looks to back it up, right? Theo James, without a question, can step up to the plate.
Declan Emmett: Finn Jones
Image courtesy of Entertainment Weekly Magazine
Another Game of Thrones alumni, Finn Jones went from playing a Tyrell to being Danny Rand on Iron Fist.
Evangeline is so beautiful, it’s intimidating…she can kick some serious ass as an elf in The Hobbit movies, and is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Ant-Man alongside Paul Rudd. I think the bombshell would have no problem playing the ruthless and powerful governess of the northern region of Pangera.
Tharion Ketos: Austin Zenere
Credit to owner
Austin is a model, and Tharion is an extremely good looking mermaid…so it’s pretty much an easy set up there, right? I really hope we see more of Tharion and the other merpeople in the later books!
Ember Quinlan: Rose Byrne
Image courtesy of celebmafia.com
Ember was the perfect combination of funny but protective whenever it came to her daughter, Byrce. I feel like Rose Byrne would be perfect to play her, I pretty much love every movie she’s in!
Randall Quinlan: Don Cheadle
Image courtesy of Variety Magazine
Don Cheadle is extremely versatile as an actor; he can be serious in movies like Hotel Rwanda and Crash, but can show his comedy skills when he joined the MCU. Randall is the kind of father that can joke around one moment, but can become hardass, military dad with excessive intimidation in his arsenal the next.
Aidas: Lucas Bloms
Image courtesy of avemanagement.com
Perhaps the most interesting character in the whole book, the 5th Demon Prince leaves quite an impression, and must be as striking as he is chilling. Lucas Bloms is a model who’s VERY easy on the eyes, so can he manage to cast the perfect amount of wickedness as his character? I’d like to watch to find out!
Pollux Antonius: Austin Jenkins
Image courtesy of the wrestler’s Instagram profile
Another WWE wrestler because…why not? It’s my fancast, and this guy who plays the ultra-cocky “Adam Cole” character every week definitely gives me vibes for Sandriel’s commander of the triarii, the Malleus, and master of torture.
Shay Mitchell is a favorite of mine ever since I’d first laid eyes on her in the hit TV show, Pretty Little Liars. She then completely switched up her character to play Peaches Salinger in the (now) Netflix show You. She has such a unique look, I’m a big fan, and I’d love to have her be a part of this casting!
Lidia Cervos “The Hind”: Ashley Roberts
Image courtesy of theninesfashion.com
The Hind is described as being one of the most beautiful women in this world, and Ashley Roberts came to mind as her being one of the former members of the chart topping group, The Pussycat Dolls. Even though she’s smiling in this pic, I bet she’d be able to pull off the cold, cruel beauty of this character!
Prince Cormac Donnall: Sam Corlett
Image courtesy of dailyadvent.com
Sam Corlett is a young Australian actor who already has quite a few notable titles to add to his acting resumé: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix and even now Vikings: Valhalla and now he’s also my fancast choice for Ruhn’s cousin (I Think?) and rival who becomes an important character in book 2: House of Sky and Breath!
Archangel Governess Celestina: Sanaa Lathan, or Gabrielle Union
Sanaa Lathan, Image courtesy of themoviedb.org
Gabrielle Union, image courtesy of shape.com
I could honestly see either of these actress’s play the new governess of Lunathion after the demise of the previous one! Celestina was an interesting character because even though she was kind and fair, I still couldn’t figure out if I could trust her…leave it to SJM to make me question an actually nice person of a character!
Baxian Argos “The Hellhound”: Keith Carlos
Image courtesy of courant.com
Yet another character who ends up being way more than their first impression fortells! I ended up really liking Baxian and am curious to see what else he does in the series! Keith Carlos is a former NFL wide receiver and now male model who was actually the first male winner of America’s Next Top Model!
Mordoc: Dolph Lundgren
Image courtesy of npr.org
Dolph Lundgren is a famous actor who was in quite a bit of action movies in the 80’s, but even was in The Expendables with a notable list of other action movie stars from different generations! He’s also been in Creed II, Rocky IV, and I believe he would be an excellent choice for this terrifying character in book 2!
“The Harpy”: Riley Keough
Image courtesy of nytimes.com
For some reason I pictured the granddaughter of Elvis Presley playing this minor character who’s temper is about a sharp as an actual harpy eagle’s talons!
Archangel Ephraim: Oscar Isaac
Image courtesy of wallpaperfire.com
Oscar Isaac is who I imagined this character being, the Star Wars actor has this presence and authority vibe that I picked up from this character!
Asteri Bright Hand, Rigelus: Timothée Chalamet
Image courtesy of theverge.com
The Bright Hand (and unofficial leader) of the Asteri is described as being a lanky teenager with a chilling smile….Timothée instantly came to mind. It’s hard to think of anyone who doesn’t know this young actor’s name or face by now, his star power has certainly risen to astronomical heights with him starring in Dune–what may have been the most anticipated film I can remember in a long time!
Hunt Athalar: Colby Lopez
Image courtesy of wwe.com
Colby Lopez is a WWE Superstar who goes by the name “Seth Rollins” when he get’s inside the ring, so besides the looks, he’d obviously be able to perform the more physically demanding stunts with playing the infamous fallen angel nicknamed the UmbraMortis.
Bryce Quinlan: Natalie Marie Nelson
Image courtesy of the actress’s Twitter account
Natalie is a gorgeous actress/reality tv star who is most well known for when she was in the WWE and E!’s reality show “Total Divas”, under the ring name “Eva Marie.” Her hair is no longer red, but look her up and see for yourself how amazing she’d look the part!
:: More Characters to be added as the series goes on! ::
This series is like a YA Game Of Thrones: There’s kingdoms, knights, stolen thrones, forbidden romance, secrets that have been killed over, deadly betrayals, a hint of magic, and war on the horizon. In the land of Mytica, magic that was once in abundance is now a long lost memory, and the kingdoms that rule the land are reaching an unrest with a power struggle for ultimate power.
Here is my review of the first book in the series!
Cleo is described as the Golden Princess; she’s named after a goddess, so why not cast Blake Lively as her? She’s an IT girl who’s known for her roles in Gossip Girl, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Savages to name a few, and is also the wife of Ryan Reynolds!…lucky bitch.
Prince Magnus Damora: Nick Ayler
Credit to owner
So he’s missing the dark eyes, but I couldn’t shake the idea of casting this amazing looking male specimen as our moody Prince of Limeros (and sass).
Jonas Agallon: Marco Dapper
Image courtesy of homorazzi.com
Probably no one’s choice but my own, this unknown actor has been in the Soap Opera, The Young and the Restless and has made small appearances in Criminal Minds, Veronica Mars, and Dirty Sexy Money.
Princess Lucia Damora: Barbara Palvin
Image courtesy of twimg.com
She’s an angel from Victoria’s secret, so she certainly has the face to match the beauty of our magical princess Lucia. Besides her runway work, somehow the other Sprouse Twin who’s not in Riverdale, Dylan, landed her, to which I say “Good Job Zach!”
Nic Cassian: Sam Claflin
Image courtesy of popsugar.com
You see this guy in Love, Rosie and Me Before You, and how can you not swoon over over him? He’s been a favorite of mine since his surprising achievement of being casted as Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games franchise, I know Sam would nail this role as Cleo’s best friend.
Mira Cassian: Sophie Turner
Image courtesy of celebmafia.com
The series is basically a YA Game of Thrones knock-off without the Dragons or White-walkers, so why not have the actress we all got to know and love as Sansa Stark be a part of this series too? Sure, it’s a much smaller role, but I feel like it’d be a nod to what we know.
Aron Lagaris: Alex Pettyfer
Credit to owner
Again, I hate to type-cast, but I did start this series way back in 2012 when it first came out, so how could I not cast Alex as the arrogant, aristocratic noble who was betrothed the Cleo at the very start? He’s known for his roles in Magic Mike, I Am Number Four, Beastly, In Time, and Endless Love. It’s just too bad he’s known for taking that reputation of being a complete asshole into real life as well…
Theon Ranus: Jensen Ackles
Image courtesy of Entertainment Weekly Magazine
Ever since seeing him LARPing in his show, Supernatural, i’ve known it in my heart that I want him to be casted as an actual knight in some sort of fantasy setting. I totally saw him playing the brave, prideful, loyal knight who was Cleo’s love interest at the very beginning of the books!
King Gaius Damora: Richard Armitage
Image courtesy of oldvictheatre.com
This guy can act! He’s known for playing our anti-hero Thorin in The Hobbit movies among plenty of other roles, I thought he’d be an excellent ruthless, evil, greedy king Gaius who’s the villain through most of the series!
Queen Althea Damora: Danielle Bisutti
Image courtesy of picsofcelebs.com
I pictured either her or Lucy Lawless playing the role of King Gaius’s wife and Magnus’s mother, she can nail the role of ice queen in the roles I’ve seen her play. She’s been all over the place, I’ve seen her in many shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Tru Jackson VP, CSI, Parks and Recreation, and Private Practice to name a few!
Alexius: Luke Guldan
Image courtesy of lukeguldan.com
Total confession, but seeing this image on Pinterest inspired me to create an account!…I am actually being completely serious…anyways, he’s a small time model-turned-actor, not in anything I’ve seen, but I pictured him playing the immortal watcher who looks over the land and falls for Lucia.
Brion Radenos: Josh Bowman
Image courtesy of picsofcelebs.com
I watched Josh in Revenge, and thought he’d be good at playing the best friend of Jonas and fellow rebel soldier to try and overthrow King Gaius’s tyranny.
King Corvin Bellos: Sean Bean
Image courtesy of sharovaka.com
I mean, if we’ve read the first book, does this not make total sense?…
Emilia Bellos: Kirsten Bell
Image courtesy of hawtcelebs.com
I love Kirsten so much, she’s just so swell, I could totally see her playing the wiser, older sister role to Cleo!
Sabina Mallius: Madeleine Stowe
Credit to owner
After seeing her wickedness in Revenge, I imagined she’d absolutely nail the role of playing the scheming, evil mistress to the King.
Prince Ashur Cortas: Jesse Williams
Image courtesy of rebloggy.com
I know this isn’t a popular choice because he doesn’t match the description at all, but I switched up the look of Krashia’s royal prince by keeping their skin dark, but changing the ethinicity to those of African descent with lighter eyes, which leads me to the next casted role…
Princess Amara Cortas: Logan Browning
Image courtesy of coed.com
Logan stars in the Netflix show, Dear White People, and I know I’m going against what the entire Cortas Empire is supposed to appear as—which is a more Middle Eastern ethnicity—but Logan just fits how I pictured this character!
Felix Graebas: Colby Lopez
Credit to owner
I’m a huge WWE fan, and at the time of meeting Felix in the series, this guy (ring name: Seth Rollins) was playing a similar character on my tv screen every week; arrogant but charming, definitely someone not to trust, so I put the two together, said why not? and made him my assassin and allie(sort of?) to Jonas.
Melenia: Charlize Theron
Image courtesy of pursuitist.com
Watch her Dior commercials, or see her as the evil queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, and try and tell me she isn’t meant to play the role of a scheming immortal?
A very small role in the whole series, but she made the most of the time she was given, this immortal and best friend to Alexius was to be played by a young blonde actress. She’s not too well known, but she can be seen on Project Almanac and Runaways, and has made appearances on shows like How to Get Away with Murder and Glee.
Kyan: Andrew Stetson
Credit to owner
So, trying to someone so good looking, so ethereal, so godlike that he could play Kyan…male model Andrew Stetson was a close enough choice for me.
Jana Kramer has the tan skin & darker features, and for some reason, the country singer from One Tree Hill was someone I wanted to play Lysandra
Kurtis Curillo: Sebastian Stan
Image courtesy of celebs-place.com
This was more going back to when Sebastian Stan was on Gossip Girl (I know right?! Hard to believe), but I could totally see him playing the sneaky, cowardly, condescending childhood rival of Magnus
Selia Damora: Susan Sarandon
Image courtesy of max-pix.com
Susan Sarandon is someone who has a presence no matter who is in the room. She can be everything at once, and I totally pictured her playing King Gaius’s wicked mother.
Nerissa: Sophia Bush
Image courtesy of weheartit.com
I know Sophia Bush deserves bigger roles than this, but Nerissa was one of those minor characters that snuck up on you. I personally kept thinking she wasn’t going to make it throughout the series, but she managed to hang in their until the very end!
Olivia: Eve Torres-Gracie
Image courtesy of evetorres.com
A former WWE Superstar, Eve always had beauty that shined so bright that she could have been perfect for the big screen. Her acting chops aren’t too bad, and I know this is a choice that doesn’t fit the description of the character, I just imagined someone with grace and poise and Eve certainly fits that bill.
Timotheus: Jude Law
Image courtesy of mrreporter.com
Jude Law doesn’t even know how to be unattractive, I swear…Anyways, a household name like himself should certainly be an excellent choice to be one of the head watcher’s from the other world alongside where the series takes place!
Enzo: Joseph Cannata
Image courtesy of fusionmovies.com
Enzo, to me, was what I imagined a big, dumb, lovable, and attractive jock to look like. He’s a knight with a change of heart and gets a few moments to shine in the final story, and even has a little bit of a romantic side story with Nerissa! Joseph is a model, you’ve probably seen him on a romance novel cover here and there, and I thought he’d make a good Enzo for us to enjoy!
